Big Bust in Hartsdale
A busy week for the Greenburgh Police: At 4 pm on June 23 police were called about a fight in progress at 18 Scott Place in Hartsdale. James Coviello, age 45 was fighting with his wife, Patricia Covielleo age 49 and Patricia called her 70 year-old mother, Mary Misarti to intervene. When Misarti arrived, she brought 29 year-old John Green with her, and when the mother-in-law arrived, she announced to James Coviello, “I brought this guy to kick your ass.” Coviello told Green to get out of the house, but Green grabbed Coviello by the neck. Coviello broke free and went into the basement to get his shotgun and Green fled. A SWAT team arrived but found that police had already detained Coviello and Green. Police recovered two guns and Coviello was charged with assault. Misarti fell during the incident and due to a hip injury was taken to White Plains Hospital by ambulance. But the story doesn’t end here. Later that evening, police were preserving the crime scene at the house and came upon James Coviello hiding in the bushes next to a wood pile at the back of the detached garage. Members of the Greenburgh Task Force and Police told Coviello to leave the scene and he drove off. A little while later, investigators found a hole in the back of the garage and 50 pounds of marijuana which was hidden in the garage and in the wood pile. They found and arrested Coviello for criminal possession and for tampering with evidence. They also found two more bags of marijuana on Coviello. More Fights: A Secor Road woman got into a fight with an ex boyfriend when he refused to leave the house on the evening of 6/20. The man was waiting for a cab on Longfellow Street in Hartsdale when he started to scream, kick and refuse to leave. He blocked traffic and cursed and screamed that he wanted to be arrested. When he refused to stop, he was placed under arrest, but flailed his arms, refused to be handcuffed and kicked and yelled. The man, identified as Paul Fisher, age 42 of Pleasantville was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Trouble at Hurricane Wings : Police were called to intervene in a fight at the restaurant on the night of June 23rd. Two customers, Robert W. Bracchitta and Jennifer Bitter both of Yonkers had gotten drunk and started a fight with another customer.
