Public input sought on Lake Huron's north shoreline resources
The northern shoreline of Michigan’s Lake Huron contains some of the most ecologically rich and diverse areas found in the State, and it provides recreational opportunities to explore these areas. Funded in part through a grant from DEQ’s Coastal Zone Management, the EUP Regional Planning & Development Commission (EUPRP&DC) is starting the planning process for inventorying these recreational resources and creating a website to promote those resources. A “kick-off” meeting will set the stage for public input. The meeting will take place on July 18 from 4-6 p.m. at the Clark Township Community Center, 133 E. M-134, Cedarville, Michigan. EUPRP&DC would like to understand which recreational resources should be considered when developing the website, as well as other issues that may relate to natural resources and coastal management of the Lake Huron northern shoreline. All interested persons from the public are encouraged to attend and participate. Throughout the next year, EUPRP&DC will be cooperating with area organizations and a group of stakeholders to create an inventory of recreational resources. Additionally, EUPRP&DC will be developing promotional brochures and a website to provide a forum where users can find information on the resources that make Lake Huron a special tourist destination.

Any light you click will have the light's history, a list of lighthouse keepers and directions on how to get there.
